Retail Jr. Consignment Planner

The Jr. Retail Consignment Inventory Planner is accountable for executing & monitoring a select portion of the inventory management processes for each of our retail consignment customers. The role will work closely with the Retail Consignment Inventory Planners and require a high level of cross functional collaboration.
Reports to: Roofing Retail Inventory Optimization Lead
Span of Control: No Direct Reports
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and align select stocking locations for each retail consignment customer as assigned
- Regularly monitor and maintain inventory quality management (IQM) targets to meet customer demand while also supporting internal financial metrics for the business (working capital, quarterly sales forecasts, etc.)
- Review and analyze weekly sales forecasts to ensure customer locations are fully stocked according to their mins/maxes
- Serve as an effective business partner for key customer changes, such as product assortment adjustments and inventory location changes
- Develop and align select stocking locations for each retail consignment customer as assigned
Inventory Compliance and Financial Control which includes, but not limited to:
- Invoicing customer for product
- Reconciling discrepancies between Owens Corning’s system, customer’s system, and physical counts
- Provide monthly reconciliation reports for assigned consignment locations
- Root causing variances and minimizing adjustments
- Physical count postings and ensuring audit compliance
- Coordinate with the commercial team to perform a physical inventory count for assigned consignment locations annually, including verifying stocked materials at each location and validating counts in the system at time of audit
- May be required to work select weekends and evenings when needed for physical audits
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work internally with material planning team, commercial team, pricing team, warehouse teams, customer service team and the customer’s corporate and distribution center contacts to gain alignment
- Coordinate directly with Material Planning to ensure product is available and collaborate with internal partners to work through material constraints, close supply gaps and achieve best possible outcome for customer
- Adheres to best practices and standard work for the consignment planning process
- Provide backup/flex support as needed for Retail Consignment Inventory Planners
Transportation
- Work to smooth consignment delivery schedules as needed to align with customer’s transportation and location unloading capacity while maintaining inbounds needed to service demand
- Coordinate with customer to schedule delivery appointments at assigned customer locations if required
- Work with customer transportation contacts to ensure shipments are picked up on time, minimizing backlog and issues at our OC production facilities
- Serves as a key contact for transportation exceptions
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred: BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics or Supply Chain, or similarly applicable field
- Three years of experience with a supply chain function
EXPERIENCE:
- Sourcing
- Inventory Management and Production Control
- Logistics
- Previous experience in a material planning role preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Understanding of supply chain principles in the areas of forecasting, sourcing, production and inventory management is required along with the ability to translate these principles into operation
- Advanced computer skills – Excel, Power BI, and SAP
- Analytics and decision making – Skilled problem solving, recognizing issues, problems, or opportunities. Chooses appropriate action by formulating clear decision criteria and evaluates options by considering implications and consequences
- Communication – Clearly conveys relevant information and ideas with confidence.
