PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Benefits Associate serves as employees’ primary contact for benefit questions across all levels of the organization and crucial resource for field HR questions regarding benefits. Additionally, the Benefits Associate provides support to the Benefits Lead, as well as members of the Total Rewards team, to execute on total reward initiatives, including day-to-day administration. This position is responsible for delivering high quality service that adds value to employees’ total rewards offerings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Benefit Administration and Employee Experience

  • Leads various day-to-day processes including handling escalations and issues and responding to employee questions.
  • Ensures the execution of system solutions which includes accountability for ongoing accuracy.
  • Manages outsourced administrative service providers and other external parties.
  • Provides education and communication on employee benefit plans.
  • Partners closely with the Total Rewards team in managing administrative tasks and balancing workload across the Total Rewards team
  • Responsible for reporting, tracking and management of retiree population.
  • Partners with HR business partners to effectively communicate and accurately administer employee benefits.

Performing Benefit Process Tasks to Achieve Service Excellence

  • Monitors the Benefits phone line and inbox. Answers all employee and retiree questions efficiently and accurately. Engages other benefit members as appropriate when more complex questions arise. 
  • Provides accurate and timely coordination of various administrative processes.
  • Supports annual benefits open enrollment initiatives.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2-3 years administrative experience, including 2 years in HR, strongly preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree required

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience communicating both internally and externally and effectively managing relationships.
  • Proven track record of success in collaborating with others and providing administrative support.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive communications and personal health information.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities on a daily basis.
  • Strong skills in attention to detail/accuracy/flexibility
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of constituencies.
  • High fluency in using MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of Human Resource Management System preferred.
