PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Operations Leader is a key member of the site leadership team, responsible for providing technical and business leadership in product manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and employee development. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality production while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, engagement, and operational excellence.
The Operations Leader acts as the subject matter expert on downline processes, quality, and materials, and interfaces across the Foam Business operations network to drive innovation, solve manufacturing challenges, and share best practices. This position leads the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Pillar and contributes to the development and execution of TPM.

Span of Control: 50+ primary employees
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Champion a culture of safety, ensuring a clean and compliant work environment.
- Lead safety initiatives, incident investigations, and promote VPP and PSM standards.
- Ensure all control plans and procedures align with Owens Corning safety standards.
Operations Leadership
- Set clear and measurable performance expectations in line with plant goals. Proactively analyzes and manages all relative performance metrics making improvements to efficiencies and cost.
- Effectively communicate goals, objectives and progress, holding people accountable to deliver results.
- Ensure the quality systems are utilized to provide a consistent product that meets manufacturing specifications and customer expectations.
- Partner with T&D Pillar to develop and administer training programs and standard work to ensure repeatability and manufacturing excellence throughout operations
- Partners with human resource leader to prepare budgets relative to manpower, production, and space forecasting necessary to meet customer demands.
- Proactively analyzes and manages all relative operations performance metrics making improvements to efficiencies, quality and cost
- Partners with the Process Engineer and Reliability Leader to identify and drive continuous improvement efforts to improve productivity and quality
- Effectively engage all other functional areas of the plant as partners/ team members
TPM & AM Pillar Leadership
- Lead the AM Pillar implementation and strategy development.
- Mentor teams on TPM principles and tools; deliver training to build plant-wide proficiency.
- Track and communicate progress metrics; promote proactive problem prevention.
Talent Development & Employee Engagement
- Create an inclusive, high-performance culture focused on engagement, empowerment, and ownership.
- Lead coaching, performance reviews, and development planning for all production employees.
- Build a positive employee relations environment and establish Owens Corning as an employer of choice.
- Effectively staff the team with a mix of internal and external talent for long-term success.
Customer Focus & Business Acumen
- Elevate customer perspective through deep understanding of product applications and needs.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and superior customer experience.
- Operate with a zero-defect mindset and continuously seek ways to improve product performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience
- Proven success in leading TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma initiatives.
- Experience in discrete manufacturing and startup environments.
- Experience in managing unionized employees
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, coach teams, and drive engagement.
