Forklift - Production

Position: Forklift Operator
Night Shift: 5:05 pm – 3:35 am., Monday - Thursday; occasional OT on Fridays
Purpose: This Forklift Operator position works in the business by ensuring the processes run smoothly and efficiently and helps manage the processes and programs for the production crew.
- Safety
- Ensure the safety of all personnel by following established safety policies and housekeeping standards
- Conduct pre-shift inspection of the forklift to ensure safety and operational compliance
- Provide safe operation of forklift throughout the facility. Abide by all safety rules and regulations required with forklift operation
- Quality
- Completes audits to ensure quality requirements and standards are met
- Production
- Places pallets of finished door stacks on wrapper with forklift
- Pull all production wraps lines as required out of designated areas
- Separate all disposable material into the designated areas
- Loading all lines as per the production requirements.
- Staging and organizing incoming product to the department to maximize flow.
- Removing machined product from the lines and stage for shipping.
- Keep raw materials and packaging materials stocked, as necessary.
- Assist in finishing and packaging of completed units.
- Operate forklift to load and/or move materials
- Supply production areas with materials needed from inventory
- Load/unload, lift, move, place, stack raw materials
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Education:
- HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
- Models OC Core Values and leadership competencies
- Ability to receive forklift certification
- Ability to work independently when needed
- Utilizes strong leadership skills to build a cohesive and high performing team
- Demonstrated a high degree of accuracy
- Makes effective use of work time
- High level of mental alertness
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Thorough knowledge of all areas of primary production positions
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
- Stand/walk for a full work shift of 10 hours
- Mount and dismount forklift multiple times per day
- Maintains good attendance and punctuality as defined in the Attendance Policy
