Legal Entity Controller / Accountant – Baltics

Location: Hybrid, based from our European Excellence Hub in Vilnius, Lithuania

As part of our European Excellence Hub in Vilnius, the Legal Entity Controller / Accountant – Baltics plays a key role in ensuring accurate accounting, strong internal controls, and compliance for Owens Corning legal entities in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. You will work closely with Shared Services, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure high‑quality financial reporting and continuous process improvement.

This role reports to the AIC Manager Baltics, based in Vilnius.

 

What does success look like?

  • Accurate and timely month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close in compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP
  • Strong ownership of balance sheet, P&L, and account reconciliations
  • High‑quality statutory reporting and audit execution across Baltic legal entities
  • Effective partnership with Shared Services to ensure smooth, compliant accounting operations
  • Continuous improvement of accounting processes, internal controls, and SOX compliance
  • Trusted collaboration with internal stakeholders (FP&A, Tax, HR, Treasury, Legal)

 

Key responsibilities

  • Own and execute the financial close process for Baltic legal entities
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of journal entries, trial balance reviews, SG&A, and reconciliations
  • Prepare and review quarterly tax packs and support VAT, CIT, and other statutory filings
  • Coordinate and lead statutory financial statements preparation and statutory audits
  • Maintain effective internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Support fixed assets accounting, inventory counts, and audit requirements
  • Actively support and collaborate with Shared Services on postings, reporting, and issue resolution
  • Drive process simplification and standardization, including participation in Europe‑wide initiatives
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (auditors, consultants)

 

Skills and capabilities necessary to succeed

  • Strong accounting and financial control mindset with attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, local GAAP, and SOX requirements
  • Analytical capabilities to identify issues, trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Experience working in SAP and strong Excel skills
  • Proactive, solution‑oriented approach with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix and international environment
  • Clear, confident communication and strong stakeholder management skills
  • High ethical standards and accountability

 

Business requirements

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial control, or audit
  • Exposure to US GAAP and SOX‑controlled environments
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is an advantage
  • Fluency in English (additional European languages are a plus)
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model from Vilnius

The gross monthly salary for this role ranges from 2800-3800  EUR (gross), depending on experience and qualifications.
