PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Plant Buyer to join our team. Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Leader, the Plant Buyer will be responsible for the procurement and inventory management of various spare parts, consumables, and indirect services for our site. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant by managing stock levels, coordinating with suppliers, and adhering to safety and compliance standards.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Adhere to safety policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate and fulfill the site's needs for consumables and spare parts.
  • Monitor supply quality and manage non-conformities.
  • Manage stock levels to avoid overstocking and obsolescence.
  • Utilize MRP and ERP systems effectively.
  • Analyze consumption and anticipate changes in plant needs.
  • Autonomously manage the order process for MRO and indirect categories.
  • Negotiate and manage low-value orders (up to 25k€).
  • Collaborate with Regional Buyers on small capex projects and high-value orders.
  • Continuously improve procurement processes using digital platforms (SAP, Coupa, P-card).
  • Act as a liaison between production planning, category leaders, operations, and suppliers.
  • Ensure material availability in required times and quantities.
  • Promote TPM/Lean approach and implement actions for operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with local and corporate regulations.
  • Create and modify suppliers and item codes in the ERP system.
  • Participate in procurement productivity projects and propose task optimization solutions.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • 1-3 years of supply chain/purchasing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong Lithuanian and English language skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proficient in Windows and MS Office.
  • Experience with SAP or similar software would be an advantage.
  • Ability to analyze and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional cooperation skills, organizational savvy.
