OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY SPECIALIST

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

An Occupational Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment in line with national labor safety regulations and policy of Owens Corning. The role involves identifying workplace hazards, assessing risks, and implementing preventive measures to protect employees’ health and well-being. This specialist develops and updates safety policies, organizes training, and monitors compliance through inspections and audits. Ultimately, the position safeguards both employees and the organization by fostering a strong safety culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• • Ensure compliance with Lithuanian legislation and corporate standards regarding occupational, civil and fire safety, and oversee elimination of non-conformities
  • Prepare and coordinate safety-related documentation such as training programs, work instructions, and internal regulations
  • Advise the employer, employees and contractors on safety issues and propose improvements
  • Organize and monitor instruction and training for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Coordinate and carry out occupational risk assessments
  • Organize periodic and special health checks and coordinate relevant services
  • Investigate workplace accidents and occupational diseases, register incidents, and analyze root causes
  • Develop and implement prevention plans for workplace incidents and illnesses.
  • Participate in audits and inspections by relevant authorities and follow up on corrective actions
  • Fulfill additional tasks assigned by the employer related to workplace safety

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• • Higher education (university or college-level)
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing (international working experience would be a strong advantage)
  • Valid Occupational Health & Safety Specialist certification
  • Valid Fire Safety specialist certification
  • Knowledge of Lithuanian occupational health & safety regulations
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong computer literacy
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
  • Familiarity of LEAN processes is a strong advantage

A competitive salary: 3 700 EUR gross - 4 300 EUR gross
