Electrical Controls Reliability Engineer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Controls/Electrical Reliability Engineer is accountable for leading the maintenance and operations departments to deliver the world class business results for the Waxahachie, TX manufacturing facility. The Controls/Electrical Reliability Engineer is expected to lead with a clear view of where the facility needs to be in 1-3 years and consistently deliver results to achieve that view, lead with a decision-making approach that models and teaches the proper inclusion of analytics, team ideas and personal experiences.
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining the equipment and facilities needed to produce a high-quality product. Job functions include, but are not limited to, short and long-term planning of maintenance needs, equipment analysis and Root Cause procedures, development and execution of preventative & Predictive maintenance programs, assistance in schedule development, leadership of TPM, and supervision of assigned maintenance employees.
Reports to: Plant Maintenance Leader
Span of Control: The Controls/Electrical Reliability Engineer will work directly with the Maintenance Staff and the crafts in both the Electrical and Mechanical unions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.
They will have responsibility for:
- Ensuring a safe, clean environmentally compliant work environment and building a culture where safety is a first priority.

- Achieve safety metrics – RIR, first aids, and near misses
- Execute safety programs – Safety audits, PSI’s, and JHA’s
- Ensures a safe work environment through employee coaching and engagement and strict adherence to OC’s safety policies and procedures
- Evaluate existing and new equipment for alignment with electrical safety standards
- Development and Execution of Controls/Electrical Reliability Engineering Strategy
The strategy will consist of the following:
- Ensuring the reliability of plant machinery and equipment in order to meet production schedules and customer orders.
- Supporting initiatives to supply World Class maintenance services to the plant.
- Supervising contractors and other non-Owens Corning employees on machinery repairs, capital projects, and general plant improvements.
- Developing and implementing solutions to resolve machinery or process failures.
- Scoping and executing capital projects
- Completing assigned projects in an appropriate timeframe.
- Performing machinery audits and issuing repair plans as necessary.
- Entering data, tracking part usage, and changing work plans as necessary through the use of SAP – CMMS.
- Providing equipment repair recommendations to the team.
- Improving plant efficiency measures through execution of the Reliability Work Process
- Facilitating process improvements through people deployment, productivity enhancements, and being a model for change
- Developing and leading strategic business plans; accountable for delivering plant performance metrics
- Utilizing structured problem solving tools to address the root cause of issues.
- Improving overall equipment reliability through the use of predictive maintenance tools
- Implementing predictive maintenance programs such as thermography, ultrasound, and vibration analysis as it applies to electrical systems.
- Supervising primary maintenance employees, managing job performance and developing quality work standards.
- Actively leading and building effective work teams and committees to increase plant performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead TPM expansion and maturity to eliminate losses through the engagement of operators and craftsman.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent experience
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Related field
- Experience in Electrical Reliability Maintenance.
- Experience in leading, assessing, and developing talent to deliver results
- Experience leading / supervising employees in a unionized facility
- Experience with predictive maintenance methods (vibration analysis, lubrication, infrared, ultrasonic measurement, standard work analysis)
- CMMS (SAP Preferred) – experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Root Cause Analysis & Process Improvements Programs

- Ability to make decisions based on facts and / or data including having the basic mathematics and technical skills to analyze data, interpret graphs, and combine related data
