Responsibilities:

 

Lead the site EHS, Tooling & Die, Maintenance and Facilities function at the West Chicago Innovation Center – Doors Division.  This is an onsite role, supporting the production, environmental and safety needs of the site.  As a leader, this role will have direct roll-up responsibility of 3 direct reports, and approximately 15 – 20 team members.  

 

The Site Operations Leader is accountable for leading business change and the continuous growth and development within the facility.  A successful candidate will manage and oversee all plant operations providing vision, strategy and leadership to achieve and maintain highest standards of safety, engagement, costs, productivity, efficiency, quality and customer service. 

 

 

 

  • Live the Safety standard - build a culture where safety is top priority, ensuring employees are developed and trained to safely perform their jobs

 

  • Lead and support safety initiatives and processes to drive towards zero recordable injuries

 

  • Effectively communicate Owens Corning’s stand on safety throughout the Operations Department to ensure front line leaders (where they exist) and employees believe in and behave in a manner that supports our stand that all accidents are preventable, safety is everyone’s responsibility, and that working safely is a condition of employment at Owens Corning

 

 

  • Coach, challenge and support managers in their role to develop individual competencies, manage talent, encourage recognition, and support organizational related processes, etc.

 

  • Understand and analyze organizational capabilities to proactively develop and implement organizational design and structure improvements to support delivery of the business strategy

 

  • Identify performance issues and timely, consistently and fairly implement people management solutions

 

  • Ensure proper resource allocation, prioritization, budget, cost-optimization, and capital planning

 

  • Establish operating plans for expansion efforts and implementation of new and advanced technology

 

  • Support identification, specification and qualification of new equipment and production technologies

 

  • Support long-range plan by partnering with internal stakeholders and team members to identify business priorities and needs

 

  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment

 

  • Creates a culture of accountability, delegate in a highly effective manner, and develop leaders to support succession planning and organizational resilience

 

  • Drive disciplined and timely root cause analysis and corrective action in response to production related deviations in quality, efficiency and financial reporting

 

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge operational efficiency, track progress, and drive continuous improvement efforts.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 8 -10 years’ progressive experience in manufacturing or similar environment
  • Direct people leadership experience required

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience leading organizational design (preferred)
  • Prior manufacturing experience
  • Established leadership experience
  • Experience working in cross-functional environment
  • Previous experience in Tool and Die machining processes (preferred)
