TPM Co-Ordinator Job Description:
Background:
Liversedge Plant is Owens Corning’s Non Woven Solutions Business located in West Yorkshire, England. The Liversedge Plant produces glass fibre veil products used as a composite in building and automotive industries. The plant has a total number of 80 employees, running 3 production lines over 4 shifts
Consistent with Owens Corning’s focus on Manufacturing Excellence, Liversedge are adopting TPM as their operating model and Liversedge have been using it for a number of years, striving to achieve zero injuries, zero defects and zero losses.
The TPM Co-Ordinator role is required to help support and co-ordinate the TPM Activities in line with the TPM deployment strategy. Working closely with the leadership team and the regional TPM leader they will be working with the team to help drive loss elimination across the plant using the 8 pillars of TPM. This is a hands-on role and will be a role that connects to all levels of the plant, communicating with everyone and leading by example.
The role will be a developmental role, there will be scope for developing TPM skills and Leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities:
1. Live the OC Safety Stand and adhere to the Safety Responsibilities
2. TPM - Supports the plant leadership team to help them successfully drive to zero losses through the deployment of a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) operating system.
- Provides co-ordination and gives day to day support to improvement activities, whilst establishing a shared accountability with Pillar Leaders for successful deployment of TPM.
- Collaborates with the plant leadership team in the development and creation of the TPM masterplan, ensuring implementation of TPM program across the site is executed as planned and is linked to overall plant objectives of loss elimination.
- Gathers input from team members to drive successful execution of plant goals collaboratively through all pillars.
- Seeks development opportunities to advance their own understanding of TPM across all levels of the organization.
- Supports T&D pillar teams in the identification of TPM skill gaps and executes a training plan based on TPM Training needs.
- Assists in the facilitation of TPM related training activities, this includes Pillar workshops and On the Job coaching.
- Must develop, use and advocate the application of TPM methodology in all activities.
- Must be a structured and organized self starter and works well with all levels of the organization.
Drive TPM and CI Culture
Drive the implementation of TPM and CI systems, processes, and tools to create a culture the weaves these processes into daily tasks and responsibilities:
- Train, coach and develop all levels of leadership and TPM teams on TPM and CI Tools
- Drive cross training activities for employee development in the TPM and CI skills.
- Supports the development and execution of standard work across the plant, ensuring work is safe and efficient
- Coach employees on the One Point Lessons (OPLs) process and on writing them – assist T&D in the ongoing tracking and maintenance of the OPLs for document control.
- Assist in the development of TPM training materials and guide teams in creating training materials and models.
- Partners with FI Pillar leader on the implementation of FI Activities, ensuring methodology is followed and documented.
- Understands when and how to use structured problem solving tools to solve plant related issues.
- Works with the Operations and Maintenance leader on all aspects of TPM including maintaining daily management processes and communications.
- Engage the team in incorporating TPM tools and methodology into their areas of responsibility.
- Encourage delivering results using TPM tools, systems, and processes; being present on the floor to guide, assist and develop the hourly team.
- Understand the quality metrics, processes, and systems to maximize the use of TPM and CI to achieve these goals to provide a quality product for our customer.
- Assist in representing the plant on TPM reporting and TPM operating rhythm calls.
- Assist in AM pillar team with AM training and activity execution.
- Partner with the T&D pillar team to create and deliver knowledge-based training on TPM Steps
- Support TPM Teams on implementation of TPM the OC Way
- Participates in the Safety and Housekeeping programs as established within the plant and work areas.
- Basic understanding of the process and equipment used in this facility
- Meetings/ Schedule /Additional Support
- Attend/lead various meetings and huddles, as needed.
- Attend TPM Steering Meetings
- Assist in representing the plant on TPM operating calls.
- Must have experience or be willing to gain experience by work shadowing to gain knowledge of plant processes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Engineering or Manufacturing HND or above desirable.
- Computer proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and TPM Methodology
- Previous experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean or Six Sigma in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiently demonstrates analytical, numeracy and communication skills
- Ability to read and understand Technical Manuals and Specification Sheets
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to facilitate and present training in various formats, including one to one, and in large groups.
- Ability to Influence up and down.
- Must be initiative-taking to work independently and in a group and meet targets.
