We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Team Lead to oversee the reliability, safety, and efficient operation of all facility equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, mechanical maintenance, and safety instrumentation. This role is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining all electrical and instrumentation systems within the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of maintenance technicians performing routine, corrective, and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment and safety instrumentation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, promoting a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Perform and/or oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems across OC’s manufacturing facilities.
  • Utilizes SAP PM to schedule, coordinate, and track preventive maintenance (PMs) and work orders.
  • Responsible for partnering with the Plant Sourcing Team to procure and maintain critical spare parts inventory to support operational needs.
  • Collaborates with the Plant Leader to manage the maintenance budget, with a focus on critical spare parts planning and cost control.
  • Works closely with cross‑functional leaders to minimize downtime through the application of Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Partners with the Center of Excellence (COE) team to support trials, new initiatives, and project execution.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to support accurate wiring placement and effective equipment troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot and repair routine electrical issues (e.g., motor starters, switches, sensors using multimeters and amp probes) and mechanical issues (hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems at the component level).
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems safely and efficiently.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize downtime and ensure peak equipment performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential failures and recommend corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate maintenance activities and limit operational disruptions.
  • Partner with the Center of Excellence and corporate teams to drive improvements in manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and spare parts inventories.
  • Train, mentor, and support technicians to strengthen technical capabilities and build team effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, reinforcing a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Stay informed of industry advancements and emerging maintenance technologies, recommending upgrades and improvements where beneficial.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical or Vocational training in mechanical or electrical maintenance preferred.
  • Journeyman level preferred.

 

 Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in industrial maintenance leadership. 
  • Training or experience with mechanical, electrical and safety instrumentation is preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with proven experience managing and motivating teams.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with maintenance management software and relevant diagnostic tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
