Job Title: Process Specialist – Procurement and Inventory Management

 

Purpose of the Job:

The Procurement and Inventory Management Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Wichita Falls Plant’s operational efficiency and excellence. This position is responsible for managing sourcing activities across services, MRO, raw materials, capital purchases, and inventory. The role includes executing procurement strategies, maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with internal controls (including Sarbanes-Oxley), and driving cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong negotiation skills and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a safety-first culture by participating in hazard identifications, audits, and safety observations.
  • Ensure all sourcing and inventory activities align with safety and compliance standards.
  • Maintain documentation and procedures in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and internal policies.

Sourcing & Procurement

  • Create and manage purchase orders for packaging, parts, services, and raw materials.
  • Monitor and resolve invoice discrepancies, vendor inquiries, and payment issues.
  • Maintain vendor records, pricing updates, and source lists in procurement systems.
  • Support competitive bidding processes and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Maintain procurement documentation, including PO filing and traceability logs.
  • Reconcile credit card transactions and vending refunds.

Supplier & Contract Management

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Administer and monitor contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Oversee inventory levels, including min/max packaging orders and spare parts.
  • Perform receiving, inspection, unloading and storage of incoming materials.
  • Conduct inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies in compliance with SOX.
  • Track and minimize obsolete or slow-moving inventory.

Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Support BOM via SAP creation and maintenance for spare parts and equipment.
  • Lead or assist with change management and project implementation initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide backup support to the Supply Chain and Sourcing team.
  • Work with Maintenance Lead on sourcing needed equipment.
  • Coordinate visitor check-ins and general administrative tasks as needed.
  • Provide Administrative support to other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional Supply Chain or related experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supplier negotiations.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • High ethical standards, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strategic mindset with a continuous improvement orientation.
