OBJECTIVES

  • The Plant Controller acts as a dynamic leader on the local management team for all aspects of the financial context of the plant’s activities.
  • He/she is responsible for maintaining a controlled environment that complies with the Company’s internal control policies and SOX.
  • He/she manages all the processes linked to financial planning & analysis in the plant.
  • The position reports hierarchically to the Plant Leader with a strong functional reporting accountability for driving results to the segment Finance Leader.
  • Span of Control: the position will have direct leadership responsibilities and will be responsible for laddering non-financial plant administrative processes linked to the objective of driving the plant’s profitability

 

RESPONSABILITIES

1.     Operations planning

  • Participates in the development of plant operational objectives to align with Corporate and Business strategic objectives
  • Pro-actively leads the development of productivity improvement, corrective actions, and contingency plans to ensure facility financial results and shareholder value is optimized

2.    Financial and Operational Controls

  • Ensures an effective and efficient system of internal controls including data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX)
  • Leads and coaches the local management team to ensure that accountability for internal controls is clear and processes are documented
  • Drives a robust and documented process that provides assurance and visibility to a sound internal control environment
  • Leads the Continuous Sign-off process to ensure that accountability for internal controls is clear and validated

3.    Reporting and analysis

  • Leads the plant’s financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Prepares and delivers the plant’s financial forecasts and projections
  • Leads the plant’s monthly closing process
  • Communicates results effectively and timely to the plant management and segment Finance Leader
  • Provides in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast
  • Provides risk analysis for contingency planning

4.    Driving plant profitability 

  • Leads actions in line with TPM thinking and methodology to achieve targets, mitigate risks and prioritize resource needs
  • Successfully transition projects from ‘Planning to Execution’.
  • Provides insightful and competitive analytics that anticipate change and drive decision making
  • Provides investment analysis
  • Provides leadership in asset management
  • Provides leadership to inventory data, reporting and monthly physical inventories to ensure compliance with policies
  • Assists in contract evaluation and negotiation where needed
  • Educates plant personnel on key performance metrics and financial results

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

SKILLS:

  • Expert knowledge of FP&A processes
  • Good skills on Window, Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles—understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or relevant discipline a must  
  • Proven track record and solid working experience in a similar function in an industrial Operations environment
  • Experience operating in a range of economic conditions, i.e. expansion, contraction, stable economic conditions - forecasting, scenario planning, risk analysis and contingency development
  • Providing leadership to organizations within a manufacturing operation(s) - leading operations planning, savings, forecasting and investment analysis
  • Participating in the development of strategic plans
  • Negotiating, developing, and evaluating customer and supplier contracts
  • Demonstrated growth in previous experience
  • Profound leadership skills
  • Dutch (BE) mother tongue
  • Excellent knowledge of English
